Microsoft offers 20 GB of free SkyDrive storage
After offering 3GB of SkyDrive storage to early adopters of Outlook.com, Microsoft has decided to do something similar, but bigger, for Windows Phone users.
If you happen to be a Window phone user then you may get an email from Windows stating that the company is offering an extra 20GB of free SkyDrive storage for one year on top of the 7GB of free storage already available.
According to reports, the company is offering this extra storage as a token of appreciation to Windows Phone users.
The storage provided by Microsoft will be active for a year, and users can claim it by the end of January. This is in addition to already available 7GB of SkyDrive storage free with Windows Phone devices.
SkyDrive is your personal file manager in the cloud, so it is a handy feature to use between your computer, tablet and Windows Phone for documents and other important media.
The company is already giving away 200GB storage for two years with every purchase of Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 tablets.
